1, high temperature
The metal material and insulating material of the electronic connector determine the working environment temperature of the connector. High temperature will damage the edge material, resulting in a decrease in insulation resistance and voltage resistance; For metals, high temperature will make the contact pair lose elasticity, accelerate oxidation, and cause the coating to deteriorate. Usually the ambient temperature is -55~100 ℃, special occasions may be higher.
2. Humidity
The relative humidity is greater than 80%, which is the main cause of electrical breakdown. The humid environment makes the surface of the insulator absorb and diffuse water vapor, which is easy to reduce the insulation resistance below MΩ. Long-term exposure to high humidity will cause physical deformation, decomposition, and escape of the product, resulting in respiration, electrolysis, corrosion, and cracks. Especially for electronic connectors outside the equipment, environmental conditions such as humidity, water seepage, and pollution are often considered. In this case, sealed connectors should be used.

3. Rapid temperature change
The rapid humidity change test is to simulate the actual use of the electronic connector in a cold environment to a warm environment, or to simulate the rapid change of the ambient temperature of the spacecraft or detector. The sudden change of temperature may cause cracks or delamination of the insulating material.
4, the air is thin
At high altitude where the air is thin, the plastic releases gas to pollute the contact pair, the corona tends to increase, the withstand voltage is reduced, and the circuit has a short-circuit fault. When the heavy-duty connector reaches a certain value at high altitude, the performance of the plastic will deteriorate. Therefore, when the non-sealed connector is used at high altitude, it must be derated.
5. Corrosive environment
According to the different corrosion environment of the electronic connector, choose the corresponding metal, plastic, electroplating structure of the connector, such as the connector used in the salt spray environment, if the metal surface is not corroded, the performance will deteriorate rapidly.
In environments containing considerable concentrations of SO2, it is not recommended to use silver-plated contact pairs for connectors. In the hot flash field, mold is also an important problem.
